We're an independent supply chain and logistics consultancy. Our only interest is finding the right answer for your business — not selling you a product or directing you towards a supplier.
SCALA was founded in 2001 by John Perry. The name came to him during a family holiday in Italy — SCALA means stairs, escalator, climbing step by step to the highest point. The three consonants represent our core expertise: Supply Chain and Logistics. In 2023, SCALA became an Employee Ownership Trust — a move that reflects our commitment to long-term stability, shared purpose and putting the interests of our clients and our people first.

How We Work

Over more than 25 years, we have built one of the most experienced supply chain consulting teams in the UK. Our directors and consultants have worked at board level in supply chain roles — in manufacturing, retail and third-party logistics. They understand operational reality because they have lived it. Our approach is collaborative. We work in partnership with your team, combining your knowledge of the business with our external expertise and cross-sector experience.
